Exploration of Community-University Engagement through Participatory Action Research
The Keynote presentation was given by Dr. Jean Schensul, Founding Director and Senior Scientist of the Institute for Community research (ICR) located in Hartford. ICS’s approach to collaborative action research brings ICR directly into the community where residents live, work and socialize. A dialogue process drives their partnerships with community organizations and residents where together priority concerns are determined. ICR also interacts with an array of local, regional and national organizations whose interests and work intersect with their mission.
